About

BIO
Nathalie Thandiwe is the creator, producer and host of Women: Body & Soul radio on 99.5 FM, WBAI Pacifica radio, NYC. The show facilitates womanist, social justice analysis of issues, events and culture.

She has a passion for creating dialogues that discuss how gender, class and race impact personal experience and social issues, that shed light on injustice, and break the silence surrounding so many aspects of our lives that we must speak of to transform and to know we are not alone.

Women: Body & Soul is radio at its best–provocative dialogues with writers, advocates, activists, healers, teachers and others who are challenging the status quo and working towards a socially just, healthy world in which women and girls have equal status and rights, by law, and experience this in all aspects of their lives.

Nathalie has worked in the fields of health, international development, education and media.  She is also a writer, health advocate, holistic chef and herbalist.

About the Radio Show

Women Body & Soul airs on WBAI 99.5 FM, Pacifica radio and launched in 2006. It’s a 1 hour talk radio program providing Womanist, social justice analysis of issues, events and culture. As producer and host, I create illuminating conversations around issues women face in our day-to-day lives in which our choices, knowledge and access to resources deeply impact quality of life for ourselves/our families.

“Beats” have included: how gender, race and class impact women’s lives; the depictions of gender and race in mainstream media; body politics and control; law and policy effecting women; education, training and employment opportunities for women; working with men to eradicate misogyny/make feminist gains; sex and sexuality; motherhood; relationships; health; and resources to support women in improving their lives and making choices that are in their best interest.
